Schema Conflict: Functional Schema and Configurational Schema
In this paper, I discuss the cases of schema conflicts in the process of combination of primitive schemas. I claim that a functional schema overcomes a configurational schema in a case of the conflict of the two schemas. I also show that a more abstract functional schema wins over a less abstract or more concrete schema when two functional schemas conflict with each other.
متن کاملDesktop Schema Evolution - Editing Schema
In this paper we describe a general framework to do schema evolution. The main idea is desktop, the conceptual workspace to edit schemes. The evolution to be discussed is captured from several points of view; (1) Schema translation causes changing database states. (2) Three kinds of evolutions, type evolution, predicate evolution and complex type evolution are proposed. (3) Completeness propert...
متن کاملConvert Relational Schema To Xml Schema
It provides an object-relational mapping approach that lets you declaratively define how to map Java objects to Generate a Java Model from an XML schema. In this research, we propose a new technique to convert the relational database contents and schema into XML schema (XSDXML Schema Definition),. We currently use.NET DataSet.ReadXmlSchema() function to convert a XML schema into a relational st...
متن کاملConsistent View Removal in Transparent Schema Evolution Systems
We have developed the Transparent Schema Evolution (TSE) system that, simulating schema evolution using object-oriented views, allows for the interoperability of applications with diverse and even changing requirements. TSE relieves users of the risk of making existing application programs obsolete when run against the modified schema, because the old view schema is maintained while a new view ...
متن کاملSchema label normalization for improving schema matching
Schema matching is the problem of finding relationships among concepts across heterogeneous data sources that are heterogeneous in format and in structure. Starting from the “hidden meaning” associated with schema labels (i.e. class/attribute names) it is possible to discover relationships among the elements of different schemata. Lexical annotation (i.e. annotation w.r.t. a thesaurus/lexical r...
